1. Net Nutrality
This is the idea that all data that flows over the net should have equal access. No ISP could restrict access for legal materials, or accept money to prioritize one type of material over another.
In 2014 a bill was proposed to give ISP's the power to block content, reject competing apps, and prioritize we traffic.... basically allowing the highest bidder to get fastest access and loading speed. The President has proposed objecting rules to protect net neutrality.
With so much of the web's content coming from or flowing through American based servers, any rule that passes in the United States will immediately influence our own Web access in Canada. How do we deal with this issue?

2. Robotics uses in Society
For years, people have been using robots that have been designed to do repetitive tasks requiring precision work, such as in manufacturing, but have kept robotics away from our everyday lives. We are fast approaching the point where robots could be useful at everyday tasks that would mean direct interaction with people. Robots are being used in farming to help in weed control and harvesting. Robots are being tested in nursing homes to help stroke victims gain mobility and get patients out of bed when needed. Are we moving closer to the day when robots will share our everyday lives? And will they cooperate with us, or replace us?

3. Cybersecurity
How safe are you on the Web. 2014 saw some of the biggest attacks on networks of all times. The Sony Pictures hack was the largest attack on any U.S. Company and the attack on the gaming networks of Sony and Microsoft made both companies look rediculous when new owners couldn't log in for Christmas Day. How vulnerable are we to internet based security risks in a day when many people bank through their computer, get paid online, have online accounts for social interactions and even order their groceries through the computer?
4. The Electric Car
After seeing how reliant our economy is on the price and availability of oil there has been an renewed hift towards the electric car. there has been an increase of 33% sales for electric vehicles in the past year alone. How close are we to finding a true replacement for the gas powered vehicle, and what are the current options for consumers right now?
